Koforidua, May 01, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama on Friday break grounds for the construction of a multi-purpose hall and hostel facility at the SDA College of Education at Asokore-Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital.
This was in response to an earlier appeal by Professor Vincent Adzahlie-Mensah, the Principal of the SDA College of Education in Asokore-Koforidua, during the launch of the “No Fees Stress Policy” for first year tertiary students by the President in 2025, at the College.
President Mahama in his remarks said the facility would serve as a centre for academic, social, and community activities, and would improve the overall learning environment for both students and staff.
He said work was also ongoing to address the other needs that were presented by the Principal of the College, including plans to provide a bus for the College.
“Additionally, the request for official vehicles for principals has been addressed, and I am pleased to note that the Principal here is among the beneficiaries of the Toyota Prado vehicles that will be distributed,” the President said.
“These interventions form part of our broader effort to support teacher training institutions, because the quality of education in our country depends on the strength of the teachers we produce.”
President Mahama commended the leadership, staff, and students of the College for their dedication and continued service to the nation.
He assured that the Government remains committed to supporting the institution and others like it as they work together to improve education across the country.
