Ho, May 30, GNA – Dr Dickson Tsey, Principal of the EP College of Education Amedzofe (AMECO), has announced two major legacy projects as part of activities marking the institution’s 80th anniversary celebration launched in Ho.
The projects include the establishment of a College Endowment Fund and a sustainable water supply system aimed at supporting the long-term growth and development of the institution.
Speaking at the launch on the theme: “80 Years of Excellence in Teacher Education: Reflecting on Our Legacy and Shaping the Future,” Dr Tsey said the endowment fund would provide sustainable financial support for critical areas such as student assistance, infrastructure development, staff capacity building, academic enhancement and other strategic institutional needs.
He explained that the initiative formed part of efforts to position the college for future growth while ensuring that generations of students and staff continued to benefit from improved academic and institutional support systems.
“The vision is to establish a strong and well-managed endowment fund that will continuously support the growth and advancement of the college,” he said.
Dr Tsey said the second legacy project, a sustainable water supply system, was in response to persistent water shortages experienced by the college during peak periods of the academic year.
He noted that the project would ensure reliable access to safe and clean water for the college community while contributing to the institution’s operational sustainability.
“These projects are not merely anniversary projects, but legacy investments intended to strengthen the future of the college beyond this celebration,” he stated.
Dr Tsey appealed to alumni, corporate institutions, development partners, friends of the college, government, and other stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the projects.
“As we celebrate 80 years of excellence, let us commit ourselves to building a stronger and more sustainable institution for generations yet unborn,” he added.
He assured stakeholders that management remained committed to transparency and accountability in the utilisation of all funds received in support of the anniversary projects.
The anniversary celebration is expected to climax in October this year with a series of activities aimed at celebrating the college’s contribution to teacher education in Ghana.
