Accra, May 09, GNA – The La Area Women’s Ministry of the Church of Pentecost on Saturday organised an evangelical float through some principal streets of Accra.

The float forms part of activities marking its National Women’s Week celebration.

The float, which commenced from the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), moved through Nima Roundabout to Kokomlemle and back, drawing the attention of passers-by and residents.

Participants, made up of women from various districts within the Area, used the opportunity to evangelise, distribute gospel tracts, and share the message of salvation with the public as they moved along the route.

The event also featured a football match and a health screening exercise.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, La Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, commended the women for taking evangelism beyond the walls of the church.

He said the float formed part of a broader effort to combine physical exercise with spiritual outreach, noting that members were encouraged to stay healthy while fulfilling the Great Commission.

Apostle Nuekpe explained that the initiative also strengthened unity among the women and advanced the Church’s vision of impacting society through the Gospel.

He emphasised that the role of women remained crucial in transforming communities, adding that such outreach programmes created opportunities to reach people who might not ordinarily attend church services.

Mrs Berlinda Beatrice Asamoah Asare, La Area Women’s Ministry Leader, said the float was designed to promote both evangelism and the wellbeing of members.

She said the exercise provided a platform for members to interact with the public, share Christ, and demonstrate the love of God in practical ways.

Mrs Asare noted that the Women’s Week celebration also featured health-related activities, including aerobics and basic health checks, to ensure participants maintained a healthy lifestyle.

She added that the outreach had a positive impact on the communities visited, as some residents received the message of salvation and engaged with the participants.

The event forms part of activities lined up for the week-long celebration, which will climax on Sunday with services across the various assemblies.
