Tumu (U/W), May 17, GNA – Khard Global, a company specialised in apparel and garment production, has donated sports kits to the Sissala East Municipal Education Directorate ahead of the upcoming inter-circuit sports competition.
The items, valued at GH¢34,650.00, included nine sets of football jerseys for the nine circuits participating in the competition, as well as 81 tracksuits and T-shirts for officials.
Presenting the items at a brief ceremony held at the forecourt of the Directorate, Mr Ridwan Abass Dauda, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Khard Global, said the gesture was to promote sports development in the municipality and help identify talented young athletes for future growth.
He explained that the donation would also support the municipality’s participation in the inter-circuit sports competition.
“I presented these items on behalf of Khard Global so that, as stakeholders use the kits, they will appreciate that we have the capacity to produce such items right here in the Upper West Region,” he said.
Mr Dauda further pledged to provide full sets of jerseys for all sporting disciplines and officials should the municipality qualify for the inter-district competition.
Mr Charles Lewil, the Sissala East Municipal Director of Education, expressed gratitude to the donor, describing the gesture as generous and timely.
He noted that the Directorate had completed about half of its preparations for the inter-circuit competition, adding that the support from Khard Global had significantly boosted their efforts towards a successful outing.
Mr Lewil recalled that during the 2025 inter-district sports competition in Wa, Mr Dauda provided jerseys and official wear for the Sissala East contingent, which made the municipality stand out among participating districts.
He said the distinctive attire gave the team visibility and a strong identity throughout the competition.
The inter-circuit sporting event is expected to bring together pupils and officials from all circuits to compete in various sporting disciplines.
