Tema, May 26, (GNA) – The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced that parts of the Tema metropolis will experience a temporary power outage on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
The three-hour interruption, scheduled from 11:00 to 14:00 hours, is to enable technical teams to execute urgent maintenance works at the Smelter II Substation in Tema.
A press statement issued by the Corporate Communications Section of GRIDCo on Tuesday, explained that the emergency exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to improve power supply reliability and enhance the overall resilience of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS).
The management of GRIDCo expressed regret over any inconvenience the essential maintenance exercise might cause to residents and businesses within the affected areas.
The statement assured the public that engineers and technical crews would work diligently to ensure the works are completed within the shortest possible time for a prompt restoration of power supply.
”The Company appreciates the understanding and cooperation of affected customers,” the statement added.
