Ghana Boxing Authority to hold Extraordinary Congress for Executive Board elections

Accra, May 11, GNA – The Interim Management Committee of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBIMC) has announced an Extraordinary Congress to elect a substantive Executive Board for the Authority.

Positions to be contested are the President, First Vice President, Second Vice President and Treasurer positions. Also, four Executive Board Members would be elected.

A statement signed by Mr. Samir Captan, Chairman of the GBIMC, noted that the organisation of the Congress was in line with Articles 4.6, 7.4, and 7.8 of the GBA Constitution and the established GBIMC Election Roadmap.

The event is scheduled for 0900 hours on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“In the coming days, the three-member committee, headed by the Chairman, tasked with navigating the GBA Executive Board Elections, will be officially announced,” the statement added.

The GBIMC emphasized that only members and associations in good standing would be eligible to vote.

Prospective candidates may pick up nomination forms starting Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Completed forms and nominated delegate lists must be submitted to the GBIMC Secretariat by Tuesday, May 19, 2026, it said.
