Tema, May 24, GNA – The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested four students at Ada Senior High Technical School following the circulation of a viral video on social media.
The video showed a student wielding a cutlass and allegedly threatening other students on campus.
A police statement issued in Tema and signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs, said the incident came to the attention of the police at about 00:10 hours on May 22, 2026, after the video was intercepted online.
The statement said a police night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene.
With the assistance of school authorities, the police arrested Raymond Gyamfi, 18; Oscar Amemoair, 18; Odartey Wilson, 18; and a juvenile, all of whom were identified in the video.
The suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The Regional Police Command advised students to resolve disagreements through established school procedures and refrain from acts of violence, intimidation and other conduct likely to threaten peace and safety on school campuses.
It also urged parents and school authorities to strengthen guidance, supervision, and discipline among students to help maintain law and order in educational institutions.
The Command assured the public that investigations were ongoing, and that further developments would be communicated in due course.
