Twifo Praso (C/R), May 29, GNA- Mr Hakeem Adae, the Central Regional Representative on the Council of State Member, has appealed to Ghanaians to remain united despite their different religious backgrounds and political affiliations.

He stressed that the country had one people with a common destiny.

Speaking at Twifo Praso in the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region in commemoration of Eid-ul-Adha, Mr Adae stated that although people worshipped in different ways, they all served one God and must practice their religions peacefully and responsibly.

According to him, religious tolerance and mutual respect were important for maintaining peace and harmony in the country

Mr Theophilus Vondee, the Member of Parliament for the Twifo Atti -Morkwa Constituency, together with Mr Isaac Yawson, the District Chief Executive, also urged Ghanaians to protect the peaceful relationship that exists among Muslims, Christians, and traditional leaders in the country.

They noted that the unity and peace being enjoyed in Ghana were admirable and must be maintained as the government of President John Mahama and his appointees continued to pursue development projects across the country.

The Student Chief Imam, Suleman Abudelah, advised the youth to stay away from drug abuse, warning that drugs destroyed lives and promoted bad behaviour in society.

He further appealed to the government to intensify efforts to arrest and prosecute drug dealers in order to protect the future of the youth.
