Kadjebi (O/R), May 19, GNA – Mr Tassah Tapha Tassah, the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Akan Constituency, has urged party delegates and supporters to remain united ahead of the party’s upcoming constituency elections.

He said unity was essential to enhancing the party’s chances of reclaiming political power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Tassah made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

He noted that cohesion within the party was the surest path to rebuilding the confidence of supporters and positioning the NPP strongly for future electoral victories.

Mr Tassah emphasised that he was not backing any aspirant contesting in the constituency elections and would support whoever emerged victorious in the interest of the party.

“The party must come first at all times. We should avoid divisions and work together towards a common goal because that is the only way we can wrestle power from the NDC,” he said.

The former parliamentary candidate, who is also a legal practitioner, urged delegates to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections to preserve the unity and image of the party.

He cautioned against the influence of money in the electoral process, stressing that leadership should be based on competence, commitment and dedication to the growth of the party rather than financial inducement.

Mr Tassah said vote-buying and monetary influence could undermine internal democracy and create disaffection among party faithful.

He appealed to all aspirants and their supporters to respect the outcome of the elections and rally behind elected executives to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.

Mr Tassah expressed confidence that with unity, discipline and commitment, the NPP could regain the trust of the electorate and return to power.

The NPP is expected to hold its constituency elections nationwide in July 2026.
