6.1-magnitude quake hits southern East Pacific Rise — GFZ

BEIJING, May 20, (Xinhua/GNA) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1, jolted southern East Pacific Rise at 1743 GMT on Wednesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 55.97 degrees south latitude and 122.42 degrees west longitude.
