Sunyani, (Bono), April 21, GNA – Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, the Paramount Queen Mother of the Sunyani Traditional Area has revoked the suspension of Oboaman Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II, the Krontrihene (sub-chief) of the Area, with immediate effect.
A letter issued by the office of Nana Brayie II and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani said that: “Oboaman Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II can resume performance of his customary and traditional functions as the Krontrihene of Sunyani”.
It said: “I am happy to inform you of the withdrawal of customary and traditional sanctions imposed on you as contained in a letter dated back March 27, 2024”, explaining that the suspension was to help “restore sanity and order within the Sunyani Traditional Area”.
“And now order and sanity have been restored”, the letter stated, explaining that Nananom will agree with me that the Sunyani Traditional Council can’t continue to function without a Krontrihene”, it added.
The letter explained that the Krontri stool served a significant customary role within the Traditional Area and the Traditional Council.
It would be recalled that the Sunyani Traditional Council imposed an indefinite suspension on Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II in 2024, barring him from performing his duties as the Krontrihene of the Sunyani Traditional Area and attending traditional council meetings.
