Quality education goes beyond classroom-Tano North MCE

Terchire, (Ahafo), April 26, GNA – Mr Pius Sampson Opoku, the Tano North Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improve quality education for Ghanaian children. 
 
He said quality education remained the surest legacy the government could bequeath to and prepare the Ghanaian child for a brighter future. 
 
“The process of attaining quality education for all isn’t only limited to the classroom, but involves curricular activities within and outside the classroom settings”, he stated when speaking at the fourth edition of the Annual Youth Career Guidance fair for basic schools in the area. 
 
Mr Opoku advised school children in the area to take advantage of government’s interventions, remain studious, urging teachers and families to guide their children and wards in choosing and pursuing career paths that would shape and build their future. 
 
The Tano North Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) organised the forum held at Terchire in the Municipality attended by school children, security services, health professionals, educators, and Engineers. 
 
Mr Opoku advised the school children that: “Don’t be afraid to dream big because your future is in your own hands and so choose the right profession that will enable you to achieve your life dreams and aspirations”. 
 
Mr Stephen Tia Adams, the Tano North Municipal Director of Education explained that the fair, among other objectives, aimed at creating opportunities for the school children to interact with professionals in identifying their innate talents and capabilities. 
 
He said doing so would enable the pupils and students to choose and pursue appropriate courses that would earn them successful future careers and to impact positively on the society. 

Mr Adams thanked the Otumfuo Brempong Dr Okoh Agyemang Baokye II, the Chief of Terchire for his unflinching support towards promoting quality education in the municipality, and beyond. 
 
Madam Veronica Kumi Yeboah, the Tano North Schools Improvement Support Officer of the GES who initiated the youth career guidance fair said the event also sought to adequately prepare the candidates of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the area. 
 
She advised the candidates to be confident and learn hard to pass the examination to continue and achieve high academic laurels, saying that the school children who attended the event were drawn from Duayaw-Nkwanta, Bomaa, Tanoso,Yamfo, Terchire and Adrobaa Circuits of the GES. 
 
Otumfuo Brempong Boakye II, the chief of Techire who presided commended the directorate for the initiative and urged the Municipal Assembly’s continuous support to improve and sustain the fair and thereby advance the growth and development of education in the municipality.
