Bodi (W/R), April 6, GNA – The Sefwi Bodi Methodist Church in the Sefwi Bekwai Diocese has commemorated the resurrection of Jesus Christ with a call on public servants to eschew self-serving attitudes and corruption.

Reverend Stephen Acquah, Minister in charge of the Sefwi Bodi Methodist Church, delivering a sermon on the theme: “He Has Risen,” urged Christians to use the Easter celebration to resolve differences and show love to one another, describing these as the true hallmarks of Christianity.

“We always celebrate Easter, but brethren, let us use this year’s celebration to show love to one another and the needy, and resolve all differences among ourselves as Christians,” he said.

Rev Acquah also admonished church members to regard Sundays as sacrificial days dedicated to worship, rather than for other personal activities.

“Christians in recent times prefer to do everything else on Sunday mornings before coming to church, and as a result, come late or do not attend at all,” he added.

Churches around the world held special services to mark this year’s Easter and reflect on its significance in the lives of Christians.

In Ghana, the Monday after the resurrection Sunday is declared as Easter Monday, which is also recognized as a national holiday, that climaxes the Easter celebrations with many activities including funfairs, picnics and other beach programmes.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a powerful reminder of God’s love, offering hope and new life to believers.
