Madam Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, a philanthropist, who gave the advice, cautioned that examination malpractices were unacceptable, and urged them to remain studious and prepare themselves well for the examination.
She was speaking to the media at Odomase after she presented mock examination materials to the Sunyani West Municipal Directorate of Education.
Madam Dwumah, also Election 2024 parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) urged the candidates to stay focused and give off their very best in the examination.
In another interview, Mr Issah Baffoe, the Sunyani West Municipal Director of Education, said a total of 2,685 candidates drawn from 89 public and private schools in the municipality would be expected to write the BECE.
He said the directorate had already engaged candidates through its “Meet Your Candidate” initiative, which focused on educating the candidates on the BECE rules, ethical conduct, and the consequences of examination malpractices.
Mr Baffoe explained that invigilators would be thoroughly trained in line with the Ghana Education Service (GES) code of conduct to ensure a smooth and credible conduct of the BECE in the municipality.
He also urged the candidates to strictly adhere to examination regulations and conduct themselves responsibly in the examination hall, urging them to be confident.
Mr Baffoe said he was highly optimistic that with enhanced preparation measures and growing community support from stakeholders, the municipality would record improved performance in the 2026 BECE.
