Dzodze (V/R), April 2, GNA – Rev. Martin Amenaki, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure following an inspection of ongoing school projects in the municipality.
Rev. Amenaki led a team of Assembly officials on a monitoring visit to the Law Memorial E.P. Basic School project site at Tadzewu, where a six-unit classroom block is under construction. The visit was to assess the quality of work and progress.
He expressed satisfaction with the steady advancement, noting that the project had reached about 80 per cent completion.
“This level of progress is encouraging and reflects our deliberate efforts to address infrastructure challenges in the education sector,” he said, adding that engaging competent contractors was yielding tangible improvements in teaching and learning outcomes.
He indicated that, barring unforeseen setbacks, the project would be completed within the next two months.
The contractor confirmed smooth progress, attributing it partly to the cooperation and support of the Tadzewu community. Rev. Amenaki commended the residents and urged other communities to emulate their collaborative spirit to accelerate development.
The MCE and his team also visited Dzodze Fiagbedu, where a Kindergarten block is under construction at the Dzodze Fiagbedu R.C. School.
The facility will include classrooms for KG 1 and KG 2, a kitchen, and modern sanitary facilities such as toilets, baths, and restrooms.
Rev. Amenaki expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, describing the contractor’s performance as commendable.
“I am particularly impressed with the standard of construction and the commitment demonstrated so far. I encourage the contractor to maintain this level of dedication to ensure timely delivery,” he stated.
The project is also expected to be completed within two months and will significantly improve the learning environment for young children.
Rev. Amenaki emphasised that strengthening early childhood education remained a key priority, as it provides a strong foundation for future development.
“As leadership, we are determined to ensure that these projects are completed on schedule and used without delay. Education remains the cornerstone of development and investing in safe and conducive learning environments is non-negotiable,” he stressed.
Contractors at both sites assured the MCE of their readiness to meet timelines and deliver on schedule or earlier.
On January 14 and 15, the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the MCE, cut sod for the two projects: the kindergarten block at Dzodze Fiagbedu R.C. School and the six-unit classroom block at Law Memorial E.P. Basic School in Tadzewu.
The projects form part of the Assembly’s efforts to bridge infrastructure gaps in education and create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
