Ho, April 19, GNA – The Ho East Presbytery Catechists Union of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) Saturday elected New executive members to steer the affairs of the Union for the next six years.
The election took place at the end of their three-day retreat held at the Elorm Parish of the Church in Ho.
Catechist Frank Yayra Ayisah was elected as the President, when he defeated two other contestants with 17 votes.
The other contestants were Cat. Festus Awumey who got 10 votes to become the Vice President and Cat. Gideon Kodzokpo who got eight votes.
The Secretary position was won by Cat. Innocent Abotsi with 19 votes.
Cat. Benjamin Ayira was elected as the Assistant Secretary with 10 votes.
Cat. Gloria Akora, Cat. Foster Kwame Nkrumah and Cat. Aikins Agbo were elected unopposed as the Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively.
Cat. Tony Deh and Cat. Vinolia Ayele Mensah were also elected as advisors to the Union.
Cat. Lord Hoedinya, the outgoing President congratulated the new executives and called on members of the Union to give them their maximum support to enable them to move the Union to another level.
Cat. Ayisah on behalf of his colleagues thanked the Union for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to rely on the expertise of their predecessors.
He also pledged to run an all-inclusive administration, accountability, and transparency.
The election was supervised by Presbyter Kafui Kpe, General Assembly Council member of the Church and Rev Mrs Alice Blunya Ankutse, Synod Clerk of the Presbytery.
