Adidome (V/R), April. 18, GNA — Residents of the Adidome Central Electoral Area in the Central Tongu District are being mobilised for a community clean-up exercise at the Adidome Government Hospital, following an initiative led by their Assembly Member, Mr Guggisberg Fiagbenu.

The exercise, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 0600 hours to 1000 hours, is expected to bring together volunteers to clear overgrown weeds and remove waste from the hospital environment to improve sanitation and safety.

Mr Fiagbenu, in a proposal submitted to the Central Tongu District Assembly, emphasised the need for urgent community action to address conditions that could pose health risks, including the breeding of mosquitoes and the spread of sanitation-related diseases.

He said the initiative forms part of efforts to complement the work of health authorities by creating a cleaner and more hygienic environment that supports patient care and recovery.

The Assembly Member has therefore called on residents, youth groups and local stakeholders to actively participate in the exercise, describing it as a shared responsibility toward improving healthcare delivery in the area.

He appealed to the Assembly to provide technical support through the District Environmental Health Unit and assist with basic tools for a successful exercise.

The initiative is also expected to strengthen community involvement in maintaining public facilities and promote environmental cleanliness across the district.
