Ho, March 27, GNA-Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister has hosted National Homeownership Fund team to advance plans for affordable housing initiatives.
The visit, which took place at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) in Ho, was aimed at conducting feasibility studies ahead of a planned Home Ownership Fair.
The initiative seeks to expand access to affordable housing and help reduce Ghana’s housing deficit through targeted interventions and stakeholder engagement.
Mr Gunu welcomed the delegation led by Madam Rachel Aculey, noting the importance of the exercise to the socio-economic development of the region.
He said the feasibility studies would help determine appropriate strategies for implementing housing programmes tailored to the needs of residents.
“I encourage the team to establish a presence in Ho to deepen awareness and accessibility of the initiative,” Mr Gunu stated.
The Minister assured the team of the Regional Coordinating Council’s readiness to support the programme to ensure its success.
Madam Aculey explained that the Home Ownership Fair would provide a platform to connect prospective homeowners with financial institutions, developers, and housing experts.
She said the initiative would also offer guidance on mortgage options and other pathways to home ownership for individuals and families.
Both parties expressed optimism that the collaboration would contribute significantly to making home ownership more accessible and affordable for residents in the Volta Region and beyond.
