Accra, Mar 03, GNA – Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has received a delegation of Queenmothers from Ga Mashie, led by the Paramount Queen Mother of Jamestown (Ngleshie Alata), Naa Afipong IV.
A statement issued by the Office of the Vice President said they discussed critical social issues in Jamestown, especially education and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
It said Naa Afipong described ongoing efforts to tackle health problems in the community and shared plans for a mobile library project to promote after-school reading and literacy development.
She also emphasized the need to expand vocational skills training to more young people and women.
The Vice President thanked them for the vital role Queen Mothers play in community leadership, social advocacy, and grassroots development.
She encouraged continued collaboration with the relevant agencies to strengthen the proposed mobile library initiative and commended their commitment to empowering women economically.
Vice President Prof Opoku-Agyemang also thanked the delegation on behalf of the children and families who stand to benefit from these initiatives.
