Sunyani, (Bono), March 03, GNA-Pastor Dennis Sasu, the District Pastor of the Sunyani South Industrial Estate District of the Church of Pentecost has urged Christians to always observe the Lord’s Supper as a memorial to the sacrifices Jesus Christ paid for the sins of mankind.
He explained that the Lord’s supper remained a crucial and sacred observance on the Christian calendar and advised Christians who failed to observe it to start doing so.
In a sermon at the Kings Assembly Auditorium in Sunyani, Pastor Sasu emphasised that the “Holy Communion is not merely a symbolic ritual, rather a divine ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ himself”.
He said that: “Lord’s supper serves as a constant reminder of Christ’s sacrificial death and the redemption secured for humanity through His blood. In fact, the Lord’s table isn’t optional, but a commandment”.
Describing it as a spiritual feast with boundless blessings, Pastor Sasu asked Christians to see the Lord supper as an act to renew their faith and covenant with God and urged the congregation to approach the feast with godly reverence, self-examination.
Pastor Sasu reminded them that, “Christians who participate in the Lord supper must do so in holiness and holiness and sincerity” to strengthen their spiritual beliefs and reinforce church unity.
He advised Christians against acts of immorality that were gradually eaten into the church, regretting that: “fornication is now finding space within the church” and called on the clergy and the church to uphold the standard of holiness.
Pastor Sasu called on young people to guard their hearts, and avoid the temptation of pre-marital sex that weakened spiritual growth and thereby hindered one’s relationship with God, urging Christians to uphold and defend the foundational principles of the faith-holiness, obedience, and commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
