Tema, March 07, GNA-Madam Ebi Bright, the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, has called on Ghanaians to demonstrate discipline and responsible behaviour to support the country’s development agenda.
She said discipline, caution and a strategic approach were essential to achieving Ghana’s national development vision and building a resilient economy.
Madam Bright made the call at the Tema Metropolitan commemoration parade of Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration held in Tema on the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.”
She urged citizens to move beyond being spectators to become committed participants in national development.


Madam Bright said individuals must take responsibility for their actions, including maintaining sanitation and obeying laws, to support national growth.
She noted that the vision of President John Dramani Mahama focused on economic, social and environmental sustainability, as well as strengthening national institutions.
“Ensuring that development benefits all citizens and leaves no one behind remains a priority,” she added.
Madam Bright said Ghana’s vision of development required cultivating a disciplined and proactive national culture to ensure sustainable progress and expressed optimism that with collective commitment, Ghana would continue to remain a “Star of Africa” in terms of economic and social development.
Madam Bernice Ofori, the Tema Metropolitan Director of Education, called on stakeholders in the education sector to support efforts to improve infrastructure to enhance educational standards in the metropolis.
She said improving teaching and learning facilities was essential to achieving quality education for all students.
A total of 13 schools in the Tema Metropolis, including senior high schools, Junior High Schools and Primary Schools, participated in the parade during the Independence Day celebration.
