Tema, March 09, GNA — The Sung Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has extended its best wishes to women across the country in recognition of their contributions to national development as the world marks International Women’s Day.
Hajia Fati Seidu, Executive Director of the Sung Foundation, said women deserved to be celebrated for their strength, resilience, dedication and the immense contributions they made in their workplaces, families and communities.
She said the commitment of women to making a difference continued to inspire progress and positive change in society.
“The world is a better place because of the vital roles women play in economic growth, social progress and national development,” Hajia Seidu said.
She noted that International Women’s Day provided an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women and renew efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Hajia Seidu said the celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 highlighted the global call for rights, justice and action for all women and girls to ensure the protection and enjoyment of gender equality and women’s rights.
She urged society to continue supporting initiatives that empower women and girls to reach their full potential.
