Nyankumasi Ahenkro (C/R), March 20, GNA- Reverend Kojo Odame, Executive Director of Kojo Odame Mission (KOMA) has presented assorted food items, cash amongst other packages to Alhaji Saeed Yussif Shaiba, Chief Iman of the Muslim Confederation as his support for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Items presented included bags of rice, cooking oil, assorted drinks, bottled water, and others estimated at GH¢14,000.00.

Rev. Odame said, he deemed it fit to share in the joy of the celebration with Muslims being brought up by a Muslim.

He noted that there was no difference between Muslims and Christians as they all served one God and ought to live in peace and love one another.

Rev Odame said the occasion marked by fasting, increased prayers and charity was indeed a profound period of spiritual renewal, reflection, and community development.

However, he noted that motorcycle-related crashes were among the leading contributors to road fatalities and cautioned the youth to be disciplined on the road for safety and peace during the celebration.

Receiving the Items Alhaji Shaiba expressed appreciation to Rev Odame for the support and prayed for Allah’s blessing for continued growth of KOMA and its impact in the Assin South District and the nation as a whole.

Muslims gathered at the mosque with vibrant scenes as families spread colourful prayer mats on orderly rows while street vendors did brisk business selling prayer beads and other Islam related merchandise.

The Chief Iman recited verses from the Quran while the crowd responded in unison with thunderous “Amin.”

He reminded public officials that leadership was a thrust from God to the people, urging them to prioritise the welfare of citizens’ above personal interest.
