Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), March 23, GNA – The Chief Superintendent Daniel Kwao Teye, the Dormaa Central Divisional Police Commander in the Bono Region has cautioned motorcycle and tricycle riders to comply with road safety regulations.
He urged them to always wear helmets and acquire a riding license, warning that offenders would be arrested and prosecuted.
Chief Supt Teye gave the advice when addressing hundreds of Muslims at a gathering to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration at Dormaa-Ahenkro, worrying about surge in motorcycle and tricycle crashes and needless fatalities in the Municipality.
“Every week somebody dies in crashes. Just about three days ago, three people died in a fata; crash, and they are yet to be buried”, he stated and urged the riders to be cautious on the road.
He noted that though the economic benefits of using the tricycle machines for transportation were enormous, they also had several disadvantages and advised the riders to be safely conscious.
