Atebubu, (Bono East) March 26, GNA- Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah, the Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Area in the Bono East Region has called on traditional leaders to spearhead job creating opportunities by looking for investments.

He said the nation could not address its rising unemployment situation if the people over-relied on the government, saying that the government alone could not shoulder that responsibility.

Ohempon Asiamah said as the embodiment of the people, chiefs and queens had to look for investment opportunities that would drive job creation and poverty reduction.

The Paramount Chief made the call when he launched the 2026 celebration of the “Meko Bono’ festival at Atebubu, an annual event celebrated in August to promote development.

Ohempon Dr Asiamah explained that the “Meko Bono” festival sought to bring together natives of Bono and Bono East, home and abroad to spearhead the development of the two regions.

He encouraged wealthy people in the regions, especially those in the diaspora to contribute their quota towards the development of the two regions, urging traditional leaders to frontline and mobilize their subjects towards community development.
