Tehran, March 15, (dpa/GNA) – Iranian authorities have arrested 20 people in the north-western region of the country, on charges of collaborating with Israel, the Tasnim News Agency reported Sunday.
Tasnim, a news agency linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that the detainees are accused of providing Israel with the locations of Iranian security forces.
It cited prosecutors in the West Azerbaijan province. Israel has not commented on the report.
On Tuesday, Iranian intelligence announced the arrest of a foreign citizen on allegations of spying, without naming their nationality. Spies face the death penalty in Iran.
