Wenchi, (Bono), March 07, GNA-Madam Gloria Gyamfi, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region has cautioned the youth against waywardness, as the nation commemorates the 69th Independence anniversary.

She said acts of lawlessness, armed robbery, substance abuse, and trafficking would only land the youth in trouble and possibly ruin their future.

Madam Gyamfi expressed concern about the growing trend of ‘get rich’ quick syndrome, manifesting in sports betting, internet scam and money rituals as well as cheating and examination malpractices in schools.

She reminded the youth that putting up good behavior would enable them to achieve their dreams and aspirations and become a national asset in future.

Madam Gyamfi gave the advice when addressing the opening session of a quiz competition, organised for basic schools in the Municipality to mark the 69th Independence Day Anniversary at Wenchi, calling for a renewed hope for the future on the theme: “Building prosperity, restoring hope”.

She emphasised that the President John Dramani Mahama’s led administration remained committed to building a prosperous nation through the execution of sound economic policies and social intervention programmes.

“President Mahama is restoring hope by fulfilling his 2024 electioneering promises and proving good leadership that makes a measurable difference in people’s” she stated.

Madam Gyamfi commended the participation of the anniversary celebration and praised the six basic schools participating in the quiz competition.
