Hoiby trial cancelled after judge falls ill

Oslo, March 17, (dpa/GNA) – Tuesday’s court session in the high-profile sex offences trial of Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been cancelled after the judge fell ill.

This session in Oslo had been highly anticipated, as prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø was expected to continue his plea, and announce the sentence he is seeking. This will now have to wait.

The court stated in a press release, that it hoped to resume the trial on Wednesday and conclude it as planned on Thursday.

Høiby is charged with 40 counts, including four cases of rape.
