Hwidiem, (Ahafo), March 16, GNA – Dr Dominic Korsah Otchere, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has called on stakeholder support to improve primary healthcare delivery in the country.Â
He said primary healthcare remained the pillar of the nation’s health delivery system; it strengthened cooperation, dedication and sacrifices were required from all stakeholders for improved health outcomes.Â
Dr Otchere, also the Ahafo Regional Parent of the GHS made the call when speaking at the 2025 Annual Health Sector Performance Review meeting of Ahafo Regional Health Directorate, held at Hwidiem in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region.Â
The two-day meeting was on the theme: “Improving Primary Healthcare Delivery through Excellence in Healthcare Delivery to achieve Universal Health Coverage”.Â
The meeting was attended by chiefs and queens, health professionals and other stakeholders.Â
Dr Otchere urged the health workers to uphold professionalism, and ethical principles for quality healthcare delivery services and to improve the quality of lives of the people.Â
He commended the health workers for their impressive performance amid the challenging circumstances, urging them to keep up and make Ahafo a model of healthcare in the country.Â
Earlier in a welcoming address, Dr Mrs Akosua Agyeiwaa Owusu Sarpong, the Ahafo Regional Director of Health, explained that the meeting sought to take stock of the past year’s performance and map out new strategies to improve health outcomes.Â
She said with effective collaboration, the directorate was able to perform creditably.Â
She commended the health workers and stakeholders in the sector.Â
Prizes were later presented to some deserving health facilities.Â
