Drobo Paramount Chief praises President Mahama for responding to the needs of Ghanaians

Fetentaa (Bono), March 19, GNA – Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, the Vice President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs has praised President John Dramani Mahama, for responding to the needs of Ghanaians. 

He said the government’s dedication towards reshaping bad roads, especially those linking rural communities was highly appreciable, saying that because of the deplorable conditions of road networks, farmers were often unable to transport their produce marketing centers. 

“Now that Rango Construction Limited has commenced road construction works here, we look forward to the next time you come here to commission those roads,” Okokyeredom Ako, also the Paramount Chief of the Drobox Traditional Area stated. 
The Paramount Chief made the remarks at a durbar held at Fetentaa in the Berekum West Municipality to welcome President Mahama to the area, as part of the President’s two-day working visit to the Bono Region. 

Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways, commended the Rango Construction Ltd. the contractors executing the Jinijini-Sampa road project, under the government “Big Push” road infrastructure programme, for quality works. 

He said the government remained committed to facilitating prompt payment of contractors under the programme, assuring them that they would be fully paid after they had submitted their valid project certificates. 

Mr Agbodza highlighted the socio-economic impact of the “Big Push’ programme, saying that the use of local labour, like masons and carpenters with the local communities, had created many job opportunities for the youth. 

He urged contractors working under the programme to speed up works, to complete those roads projects on time. 

President Mahama assured the chiefs and people of Sampa of his government commitment to improve the condition of access roads in the Sampa Township. 

The President is being accompanied by some Members of Parliament, Ministers of State, including Mr Sam George, the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, as well as Mr Johnson Asiedu, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress and other national executives of his Party.
