Mpohor (W/R), March 10, GNA – Construction work has commenced on the Kejebir to Mpohor road after years of neglect.
The 13-kilometre stretch from Kejebir through Mpohor to Adum-Banso in the Mpohor-Fiase District of the Western Region, is being constructed by JUSTMOH Constructions Limited, under government’s flagship “Big Push” programme.
For decades, the Mpohor area renowned for its palm plantations and mining activities had faced significant neglect in terms of its road network, however, the 24-month long project had brought renewed hope to the people.
Mr Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, during a site visit to inspect the preparatory work on the ground expressed his excitement over the contractor’s return to the project and hoped that the project would be completed within the specified deadline.
“I am happy that the contractor is back on site, courtesy the efforts of our President, and we hope that work will be done within the agreed time frame,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for listening to the concerns of the people to construct the road and bring the much needed relief when plying that stretch.

Mr Justice Amoh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JUSTMOH Construction Limited, said the scope of work was to put pavement blocks on the road as the final finishing instead of asphalt.
He said about 16 million pieces of pavement blocks would be used, adding that as part of the preparatory work, crashed rocks for the base and sub-base were under production.
He gave the assurance that they would execute the project according to specifications in terms of quality, while also meeting the 24-months deadline.
The Safohene of Mpohor Traditional Area, Twaah Kwame, expressed delight that the road was under construction, and expressed their support to ensure timely completion of the project.
