Sunyani, (Bono), March 23, GNA- Mr Emmanuel Kamkam-Boadu, the Sunyani Section Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-Ghana) has urged professionals in the logistics, transport and supply chain management to prove their relevance in an increasing and emerging competitive global industry.
He said the professionals in the sector ought to demonstrate stronger relevance and impact of society, saying that it was critical to sustaining growth and thereby contributing meaningfully to global economic development.
Mr Kankam-Boadu gave the advice when speaking at a career seminar held at the Sunyani Technical University (STU), urging the students and young professionals to be interested, register and join CILT to enhance their career prospects.
On the theme: “Beyond Horizons: Powering Your Career with CILT”, the seminar was aimed at equipping participants with industry knowledge, professional skills, and networking opportunities.
Mr Kamkam-Boadu described the CILT-Ghana as a vibrant professional community and urged the professionals to do more and to impact society positively.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area said professionalism remained pre-requisite in today’s job market, saying that beyond academic certificates, employers increasingly value professionalism, strong networking, and the ability to build meaningful connections.
He urged the students and professionals to uphold high professional standards and to remain competitive in their chosen careers and encouraged the students to take advantage of seminars and job fairs to network and build ‘social capital’ to enhance employment opportunities.
The Participants were enlightened on diverse career pathways in logistics and transport and learning and professional certification.
