Sunyani, (Bono), March 20, GNA -Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister has lauded the harmonious relationship between Muslims and Christians in the region.
He said that peaceful co-existence ought to be sustained and strengthened for the purpose of development.
Mr Akwaboa gave the commendation when he addressed hundreds of Muslims at the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration at the Sunyani Jubilee to end the 2026 Ramadan.
He noted that the Muslim prayers contributed significantly to nation building by promoting peace, discipline, and unity.
Imam Baaba Seidu Haidara, the Bono Regional Chief Imam said the Eid Ul-Fitr remained a special occasion on the Islamic calendar, and urged Muslims to uphold the true teachings and values of Islam.
He said Muslims who observed the Ramadan faithfully would receive abundant blessings from Allah saying that: “There is spiritual reward and comfort for all those who uphold the tenets of the faith with sincerity”.
Imam Haidara called on Muslims remain incessant in prayers for strengthening the prevailing peace of the nation and Allah’s blessings, urging them to intercede for the nation and those in authority, urging them to pray for a prosperous nation.
The Regional Minister, who led a government delegation, donated bags of rice, sugar, boxes of milo, non-alcoholic drinks, and GH¢20,000 to support the celebration.
