Apaaso (Ash), March 26, GNA – Madam Grace Agyeman Asamoah, Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive (DCE), has stressed the importance of public-private partnership in accelerating development.
She said effective collaboration between government and private individuals was essential for improving infrastructure and enhancing livelihoods at the local communities.
Madam Asamoah made the remarks during the inauguration of a community market at Apaaso, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
She described the facility as a major boost to local economic activity, adding that, the market provided a conducive environment for traders, particularly, market women and small-scale business operators, while improving residents’ access to goods and services.
Madam Asamoah commended the Chief Executive Officer of the project, Mr. Patrick Owusu, popularly known as Pekus, for his initiative, noting that his investment complemented government efforts in job creation and community development.
She urged traders and market leaders to maintain high standards of cleanliness and proper management to ensure the facility’s long-term sustainability.

Mr. Patrick Owusu, Chief Executive Officer of Apaaso Community Market, on his part, explained that the project was undertaken to support job creation and reduce youth unemployment.
He emphasised that the market was designed to empower local traders and stimulate economic activity at the grassroots level.
He also appealed to the community members to take good care of the facility, noting that its success depended on collective maintenance and responsible use.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for the Asaago-Apaaso Electoral Area, Mr Nelson Boakye Yiadom, called on residents to fully patronise the market.
He, however, raised concerns about the poor state of road infrastructure and rising insecurity in the area, urging the government to take urgent action to address these challenges.
