New York (USA), March 14, GNA-Ghanaian based pro women group AbibiNsroma Foundation has participated in the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The global gathering provides a vital platform for governments, civil society organizations, activists, and advocates to advance gender equality and promote the rights and empowerment of women and girls worldwide.
This year’s session holds particular significance as it focuses on the priority theme of ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls.
The discussions address persistent barriers that continue to limit justice for women, including discriminatory laws, policies, and deeply rooted structural inequalities that affect their safety, rights, and opportunities.
The presence of AbibiNsroma Foundation at CSW70 is set to amplify crucial conversations around these issues.
Through its engagement, the Foundation aims to highlight the lived realities of women and girls, particularly those in marginalized communities, and advocate for policies and systems that guarantee fairness, accountability, and equal protection under the law, says Mr Robert Amiteye, Convenor.
“Access to justice is not only about legal representation—it encompasses the ability of women and girls to live free from discrimination, violence, and systemic barriers. For many around the world, justice systems remain inaccessible due to economic inequality, cultural stigma, lack of awareness, or institutional bias.
He said, addressing these challenges required collaborative action from governments, civil society, and international institutions.
The group is set to launch its women’s manifesto that seek to offer some innovations and insights into Ghanaian women uplift ment and assertiveness.
