Keta Bright Future Basic School wins Champions Young Mind Intellectual Quiz Competition

Anloga (VR), Feb 07, GNA-Keta Bright Future Basic School has emerged as winner of the 2025-2026 Young Mind Intellectual Quiz competition, organised by the Young Foundation Builders Network in the Anloga District of the Volta Region.

They gathered 30 points to defeat feared opponents, which included The Lord’s Academy and 1Ketasco No.2 Basic school, who also had 28 and 27 points respectively.

The competition, which saw participation from 28 basic schools in the Anloga District and Keta Municipality, showcased the exceptional knowledge and critical thinking skills of young students with Keta Bright Future Basic School outperformed other contenders, to emerged to the top spot.

Mr Courage Fiawogbey, the Executive Director of Young Minds Intellectual Quiz, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, after the competition, praised the students for their dedication to academic excellence which demonstrated the importance of such competitions in fostering healthy academic rivalry and promoting intellectual growth among young students.

“Let me use this opportunity to say thank you to all our sponsors, teachers, facilitators and all the schools that have participated in the 2025-2026 edition of the competition, we are very grateful,” he said.

He explained that the participation schools as well as the winning school, received various forms of prizes including cash prize and recognition certificates, and expressed gratitude to all coordinators and headmasters for the smooth organisation of the event.

He said that victory has marked a significant achievement for Keta Bright Future Basic School, which also highlighted the commitment to academic excellence and intellectual pursuits.

Mr Fiawogbey said: “The competition aimed to inspire young minds to pursue knowledge and develop critical thinking skills through engaging in quiz formats. The prizes and recognition certificates are ways to motivate students and other leavers to participate in future academic contests.”

He urged philanthropists, groups of companies and individuals, among others to help sponsor the event to uplift standards of education in the areas.

He stressed that the quiz championship was emphasised on the importance of academic excellence which encouraged students to excel in various subjects, especially Sciences and Mathematics.

He said the Quiz competition also aimed to foster healthy academic rivalry among schools in the Volta Region to boost educational standards.

He mentioned that the competition in previous years has produced notable National Sciences and Maths Quiz contestants who represented various Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Keta and Anloga districts at national levels, and the organisers were glad they have contributed to their successful stories.

The Young Foundation Builders Network, the organizers of the competition, have been promoting intellectual growth among young students in the region through such initiatives.

Some student and teachers of Bright Future Basic school who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, said that the victory was a testament to their hard work and dedication which would also motivate other students to strive for academic excellence.

The grand final which took place on Friday, February 6, at the Global Evangelical Church Bethany Chapel, near Ketasco Boys Hostel, Keta, was highly attended by Educationist, chiefs, assembly members, heads of institutions, stakeholders among others.
