Hoenyekor re-elected as Presiding Member of Adaklu District Assembly

Adaklu Waya (V/R), Feb 27, GNA – Mr Mark Dodzi Hoenyekor was Thursday re-elected as the Presiding Member of the Adaklu District Assembly.

He polled 100 per cent yes votes from the Assembly members present.

The election which was conducted at the Assembly Hall at Adaklu Waya was supervised by officials of the Adaklu District Electoral Commission (EC).

The result was declared by Madam Charlotte Koduah, Adaklu District Director of the EC.

It was witnessed by Heads of departments of the district, NDC constituency executives, traditional rulers, family members, and friends.

Mr Hoenyekor, who holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology is a teacher by profession and the Assemblyman for Helekpe Electoral Area.

He is also the Adaklu Constituency NDC Youth Organiser and was recently appointed as the District Director of the Youth Employment Agency.

Mr Hoenyekor, who began his second two-year term swore the official oath, the oaths of allegiance and secrecy administered by Mr. Akosah Agyare-Amoapong, a Judge of District Court two in Ho.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Hoenyekor thanked his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him, adding “I will not let you down.”

He asked them to continue giving him their full support and advice, saying, “let us continue to work together to build a better Adaklu for posterity.”

The PM appealed to all stakeholders in the district to lend him their support to help improve the revenue base of the Assembly.

Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive in his remarks also appealed to Assembly members to work hard bring the needed development to their Electoral Areas and the district.

He congratulated Mr Hoenyekor on his election and assured him of his support in the discharge of his duties.

The election was in accordance with section 17 of the Local Government Act 936 (2016), which stipulates that a Presiding Member must be elected by a two-thirds majority of all members present and voting.
