Ho (V/R), Feb 17, GNA – The Ho Municipal Football Association has organised a football business workshop to equip clubs with skills for sustainable management and development.
The comprehensive capacity-building workshop was for club owners, team representatives and other key stakeholders within the municipality’s football ecosystem.
The event, held at the conference hall of the Ho Sports Stadium, focused on empowering participants with modern knowledge on running football as a viable and sustainable enterprise.
Resource persons took participants through practical sessions on branding, sponsorship acquisition, transfer management, player agency operations and age-cheating concerns, while also addressing effective administrative structures for clubs.
According to Mr Daniel Agbogah, the Volta Regional Football Association chairman, the purpose of the training was to ensure that football at the municipal level is managed professionally and positioned for long-term growth.
“We want our clubs to understand that football is no longer just a game; it is a business that requires planning and proper management,” Mr Agbogah told participants.
Prior to the Football Business Workshop, the Association organised an officiating seminar to educate club representatives on the rules of the game and the responsibilities of referees.
Facilitators at the officiating session explained key updates in match regulations and urged clubs to foster respect for officials to enhance fair play.
They also held a security and safety workshop for clubs aimed at preventing hooliganism, ensuring crowd control and maintaining peaceful game centres across the municipality.
