Accra, Feb. 2, GNA – Matchday 21 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) delivered late drama, setbacks for title contenders and crucial wins in the relegation battle.
Hearts of Oak were held to a 0-0 draw by Bechem United at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, missing the chance to close in on the top three after dominating for long periods.
Hearts stay fourth on 36 points, level with Bibiani Gold Stars and Aduana FC, while Bechem sit 12th, three points above the relegation zone.
Asante Kotoko missed an opportunity to cut into the lead at the top after a 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions in Kpando on Saturday.
With leaders Medeama dropping points against Nations FC last Friday, Kotoko had the chance to gain ground but were outplayed by an energetic Lions side who produced a commanding home performance.
The Porcupine Warriors would now set sights on doing the double over arch-rivals Hearts of Oak when they face-off on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in week 22.
Dreams FC let a two-goal advantage slip in a 2-2 draw with Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema, while Bibiani Gold Stars claimed a dramatic 1-0 stoppagetime win over Swedru All Blacks at DUN’s Park through defender Kelvin Oppong.
Aduana FC also failed to capitalise in the title race after a goalless draw with ten-man FC Samartex at the Nana Agyemang-Badu I Park.
