Apremdo (WR), Feb. 17, GNA – Members of the Multi-Stakeholder Group of the Sekondi-Takoradi Chapter of Infrastructure Transparency Initiative (CoST), have visited some projects under review.
The project review, being conducted in all 14 districts of the Western Region, would help establish how procuring entities supervised project deliveries to meet specifications and the needs of the beneficiaries.
Professor Matthew Somiah, the lead Reviewer for CoST during a visit to the Apremdo Catholic school and a mechanised borehole in Tanokrom, praised contractors of both projects for a good work done.
At Apremdo, where a six-unit classroom block had been constructed with toilet facilities, the Lead Reviewer noted how the contractor had done well by enlarging the size of the septic tank for human waste.
He said: “I observed how contractors have worked well on expanding these septic tanks in some of the districts visited, which means that the assembly must begin to rethink the actual size on ground.”
At Tanokrom, the Professor was pleased with the PH level of the water, which he said met both Ghana and WHO standards.
He said the concrete stand also met specifications and actual standards.
The MSG Members, earlier, engaged with Mr Charles Kwabena Opoku, the Coordinating Director of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly, who pledged their support to advance development in the municipality.
The team was made up of: Mr Isaac Aidoo, the Manager of CoST, Mr Aziz Mahmoud, the Monitoring and Evaluation officer, Madam Araba Dennis, from the Civil Society Organisation and Mr Richard Adjorlolo, a private sector representative.
