Bono East: Atebubu Area Farmers Association elects new executives

Atebubu (Bono East), Feb. 23, GNA – The Atebubu Area Farmers Association in the Bono East Region has elected new executives, to steer the affairs of the association in the next four years. 
 
The association sought to empower, represent, and support farmers to enhance food productivity, improve market access, as well as provide a unified voice for policy advocacy. 
 
Members are mostly drawn from the New Konkrompe, Mem, Watro, Duabone Number One, Duabone Number Two, Sanwakyi/Afrefreso, Praprabon, Beposo and Nyomoase farming communities. 
 
At its congress held at Atebubu, the 120 elected Mr Michael Gyan Michael as its chairman, Emmanuel Konja, Vice Chairman, and Robert Suglo, Secretary, Mary Takyiwaa, Women Organiser, Mercy Adjei, Treasurer, Issaka Yahaya, Financial Secretary and Salifu Hamidu, Organiser. 
 
Mr Gyan, the newly elected chairman, expressed appreciation to the farmers for the confidence reposed in them, saying the association remains committed to promote modern, sustainable farming techniques for improved food productivity. 
 
He said strengthening economic conditions for members as well as facilitating access to inputs and finance and thereby improving their socio-economic livelihoods remained the vision of the executives and advised them to remain formidable.
