Nsein (W/R), Feb. 4, GNA – Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Paramount Chief of Lower Town Axim and the Nsein Traditional Area, has marked 59 years on the stool as Paramount Chief.
The celebration, climaxed on February 2, also coincided with his 84th birthday, marked with a cake-cutting ceremony.
The event was preceded by a special thanksgiving service at the Methodist Church at Wassa-Simpa, where his ancestors migrated from Nsein to settle.
The Right Reverend Emmanuel K. Ansah, Methodist Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese, eulogised Awulae Agyefi Kwame II for his commitment and dedication to the service of God and humanity, and prayed for good health, wisdom and long life to continue leading the Nsein Paramountcy.
Awulae Agyefi Kwame II expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and steadfast love over the past 59 years on the throne, and thanked the Methodist Church Ghana and other churches that joined the celebration at his residence in Wassa-Simpa.
The Paramount Chief, who is also a Board Member of the Ghana National Gas Company, said his prayer over the years had been to live in a manner pleasing to God, and advised Christians to be mindful of their actions and inactions and to shine out of darkness.
Awulae Angama-Tu Agyan, Paramount Chief of the Gwira Traditional Area, said society must celebrate people while they are alive, describing Awulae Agyefi Kwame II as a respected figure at the Western Regional House of Chiefs who consistently stood for truth.


Mr Ackah Watson, a member of the Ghana Rubber Farmers Association (GREL), described the Paramount Chief as a hardworking rubber plantation farmer, noting that despite his traditional responsibilities, he dedicated time to farming, which had motivated many young people in the area to venture into agriculture.
