Anloga, (V/R), Jan 12, GNA – After a notable period of silence, Volta-based Afrobeats and dancehall sensation Mprez Ody has officially announced her return to the music scene.
Unveiling what she describes as not merely a comeback, but a bold artistic rebirth that ushers in a new era of sound, confidence, and purpose.
The award-worthy artiste, known in private life as Melody Emefa Alordome, says her return is driven by personal growth and renewed focus, having shed fear and distractions in favour of clarity, intention, and impact.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mprez Ody explained that this phase of her career represents a stronger, more refined version of her creative identity.
According to the musician, her brief absence from the limelight was a deliberate and strategic decision, not a loss of passion as some critics suggested, but a necessary pause to reflect, rebuild, and sharpen her craft.
“Sometimes the strongest moves happen in silence. The lessons were learned, the vision became clearer, and the hunger grew deeper. This isn’t just a return, it’s a rebirth,” she said.
With between eight and ten years of active music practice, Mprez Ody has steadily carved a niche for herself as one of the Volta Region’s most promising female voices in Afrobeats and dancehall genres. Her return, therefore, comes with renewed energy, sharper artistic direction, and a deeper sense of purpose.
As part of her highly anticipated comeback, her management has announced the release of a new single titled “Gboza,” a song that reflects her personal journey, passion, and self-discovery within the entertainment and showbiz space.
Early reactions from fans suggest the track could mark a major turning point in her career.
“Mprez Ody has released many good songs, but this one is exceptional. ‘Gboza’ is going to be a hit,” a fan told GNA.
Industry observers engaged by GNA have also described this phase of her career as a bold reinvention, characterised by fresh sound textures, stronger storytelling, and renewed consistency.
“Every artist needs a period of hibernation. Mprez Ody’s silence will translate into stronger branding and renewed energy. We are ready for her talent,” entertainment pundit DJ Stephen Adeleke said.
Mprez Ody is widely recognised for popular songs such as “Evoge,” “Wumgba,” and “Sugar Refix,” which earned her a loyal fan base and consistent airplay across regional platforms.
She currently boasts an impressive catalogue of over fifteen singles and features, with strong indications of an upcoming Extended Play (EP) and several high-profile collaborations in the pipeline.
She is particularly celebrated for her melodious voice, compelling lyrical delivery, and high-energy stage performances that continue to captivate audiences wherever she performs.
Beyond music, her talent extends into other creative spaces. She is a professional model, makeup artist, and pageant enthusiast. Her pageantry journey includes emerging First Runner-up at the prestigious Mama Hogbe Beauty Pageant in 2016 and later becoming a finalist at the Miss Hygiene Pageant in 2020, experiences that further shaped her confidence and public appeal.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Mprez Ody currently serves as a brand ambassador for Trinity Phones, Black Rock Pub & Restaurant, and Desba Studios, among other notable brands across the Volta Region, all affirming her growing influence beyond entertainment.
With renewed passion, refined artistry, and a clear sense of direction, Mprez Ody’s return marks a defining chapter in her career, firmly positioning her for greater influence and impact within Ghana’s evolving Afrobeats and dancehall landscape.
