Accra, Jan. 30, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has urged a 20-member delegation scheduled to travel to India for a training programme and cultural festival to maximise the opportunity.
She urged them to learn diligently and represent Ghana with excellence.
Addressing the delegation ahead of their departure, the Minister described the programme as a rare and significant opportunity, noting that the group would be the last cohort to benefit from the training arrangement under its current framework.
She encouraged the participants, comprising officials from the Ministry, a cultural troupe, artisans, artistes and traders, to observe global best practices, build their skills and contribute meaningfully wherever their expertise was required.
“The best way to show your appreciation is to be in great demand, learn as much as you can and offer help where it is needed and appreciated,” she said.

Madam Gomashie noted that sharing knowledge enhanced, rather than diminished, one’s value, and urged the delegation to maintain open hearts and minds throughout the programme.
She expressed confidence in the delegation and charged them to make both Ghana and their host country proud, stressing that their conduct and performance would reflect the nation’s creative potential.
“I expect to receive firsthand accounts of your experiences upon your return. Even though I have never visited India myself, I am proud to facilitate your journey and professional growth,” she added.
The Minister commended the Government of India for its continued support to Ghana’s tourism, culture and creative arts sector, describing the collaboration as instrumental in building capacity and strengthening cultural ties.
Mr Manish Gupta, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to cultural cooperation and exchange between the two nations.
He said the festival, one of India’s largest cultural events, would provide a major platform for showcasing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage to an international audience.
The training programme forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry to develop human capital in the creative arts, enhance international exposure and position Ghana’s cultural professionals competitively on the global stage.
