Duayaw Nkwanta (Ahafo) Jan. 06, GNA – Dr. Gideon Boako, Membe of Parliament (MP) for Tano North, has announced plans to provide essential educational materials to over 2,000 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Tano North constituency.
The move is to make an impact on the constituency by supporting the next generation of leaders by promoting education and alleviating financial burdens on parents.
The MP’s initiative targets 2,145 Junior High School candidates who will sit for the 2026 BECE and would to be providing trunks, chop boxes, and exercise books upon enrollment in Senior High School.
Dr. Boako emphasized that this support aims to ease the financial strain on parents, many of whom struggle when their children gain admission to Senior High Schools.
He made the disclosure at the closing ceremony of his Christmas Football Tournament, at Duayaw Nkwanta Roman Park in the Tano North Region.
The tournament, he said, aimed to promote unity, showcase young talents, and boost the local economy in deprived communities.

He stated the importance of investing in education and youth development and also revealed plans to collaborate with former footballers and international scouts to organize a skills development forum for local players and coaches.
The MP stressed the importance of combining sports with education, citing instances where lack of education hindered footballers’ careers abroad.
