Bolgatanga, Jan 16, GNA – The Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in Bolgatanga, through the St Vincent de Paul Society, has supported vulnerable persons within and outside the parish as part of activities to mark the New Year.
About 60 needy persons received food items, clothing and a hot meal to share the joy of the season and remind them of the Church’s care.
The Cathedral also sponsored the education of about 50 needy but brilliant students from basic to tertiary levels to help them continue their education.

At a brief ceremony, the Administrator and Parish Priest, Very Rev Father Samuel Ayinbora Atinga, encouraged the beneficiaries to remain hopeful despite their challenges and to show kindness to others whenever possible.
He assured them of the Church’s continued support and urged them not to abandon their aspirations.
The event ended on a joyful note as beneficiaries received the items with gratitude and renewed hope, ushering in the New Year in a spirit of love and solidarity.
