Accra, Jan. 8, GNA- The Pan-African Leadership Institute (PALI) together with the TT Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago have moved its immersion, conference and graduation to Accra, Ghana on February 21, 2026.
Initially, the conference and graduation were supposed to be held in Trinidad and Tobago on January 19, 2026.
A statement issued and signed jointly by Dr Kofi Osei-Kusi, President of PALI and Vashti Guyadeen, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, said it was due to safety concerns.
It said further to the communication issued by the TT Chamber of Industry and Commerce dated January 3, 2026, “we have been engaged in extensive discussions surrounding the safety concerns that remain with many delegates and other key stakeholders that are inbound for Trinidad and Tobago from January 19, 2026.”
It said with a view to alleviating these concerns, they have taken a joint decision to defer the Immersion, Conference and Graduation.
“It will now be held on 21st February 2026, at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana,” it added.
The statement said this was a difficult decision, particularly given the extensive planning and commitments that have been made to ensure that the initiatives were executed successfully.
However, the statement said: “we are of the view that it is most appropriate, as the broader geo-political concerns within the Caribbean region
remain ongoing.
“We are mindful of the time and effort that you have invested to participate in the Trinidad and Tobago initiative.”.
It said with this in mind, they sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this decision may cause.
It assured stakeholders that they were committed to ensuring the successful execution of its core activities, albeit under different arrangements.
