Nkrankwanta, (Bono), Jan. 27, GNA – Mr Ernest Amankwah, the Dormaa West Constituency Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured absolute security in the area, as delegates of the party prepares for the Saturday January 31 Presidential Primary of the NPP.
The delegates of the NPP will go to polls to elect a flagbearer for the Election 2028.
They will decide on the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Bryan Acheampong and Bosomtwe MP and former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The rest are former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former MP for Assin Central.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkrankwanta, the constituency capital, Mr Amankwah said the party in the constituency was putting in place adequate security protocols for the peaceful conduct of the primary at the Nkrankwanta Senior High School.
He said the party had had engaged the police extensively on security measures, assuring that: “No room will be left for hooligans, vigilantism and machoism as well as rubble rousers” who might try to foment trouble, caused mayhem and thereby dirtied the beauty of the primary.
Mr Amankwah also assured credible and more transparent elections, saying that arrangements had been made by the party to guarantee the credibility and integrity of the entire process.
As a border area, he said: “We don’t foresee a situation where non-Ghanaian national or Ivoirian national will cross over the border at Nkrankwanta due to its proximity with Cote D’ Ivoire or infiltrate the Ghanaian territory to participate in our presidential primary”.
