Keta (VR), Jan 15, GNA- Keta Football Club (FC) in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, has intensified their preparation and training ahead of their crucial Volta Regional FA Cup Round of 64 match against Lucky Stars FC.
The team is determined to secure a spot in the next round and is leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.
The match is part of the Volta FA Cup’s prestigious knockout competition in the region football with 64 second division clubs across the region putting up their efforts to be at their best to overcome their opponents and progress to the Round of 32.
Mr Julius Ceasar Becklie, the Headcoach of Keta FC, said that the team’s training sessions have been focused on improving their technical skills, building team cohesion, and developing strategies to exploit Lucky Stars FC’s weaknesses and expressed confident that they are on the right track and would be ready for the big match.
“Lucky Stars FC, on the other hand, will be looking to cause an upset and knock us out of the competition, but we are determined to stay focused and come out on top,” he said.
He said the match between Keta FC and Lucky Stars FC is expected to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams looking to gain an advantage and urged fans of Keta FC who are eagerly awaiting for the match to rally their support behind the team for the team to put up a good fight.
He said Keta FC has a made history in Volta Region football, and would be looking to draw on their experience to get team through to the next round and stated that the team’s supporters were known for their passion and energy, and hoped that they would play a big role in inspiring the team to victory.
“The Volta FA Cup is an important competition for Volta football clubs; it provides players with the opportunity to showcase their skills and gain recognition. Keta FC will be looking forward to making the most of this opportunity and making a name for themselves in Volta football.”
He said that Keta FC’s match against Lucky Stars FC is a crucial one, and the team would need to be at their best to come out on top and with their intense training and determination, they are sure to give Lucky Stars FC a run for their money at Avedakpa school park on Sunday, January 18 at 1500 hours kick-off time.
Mr Frank Deynu, the Secretary of Keta FC, further lamented about Keta FC struggles over the second division league home venues in the ongoing Volta Regional Division Two leagues matches and called on various stakeholders and philanthropists to help the club to get a substantive league venue.
He also appealed to all well-meaning individuals across municipalities, regions and the nation to support the club financially to help unearth more football talents in the region for a brighter future.
Meanwhile, the Volta FA Cup has seen some exciting fixtures so far in the Southern Sector A zone with Nazareth FC will play host to Agbozume Weavers FC, Ketu White Stars and Agbogba FC, Koesim United and Nukunu FC, Agbozume united and Kopeyia United, Sesi-Edem FA and Sporting Rovers, Red Dragons and Akatsi All Stars, among others.
As the date match approaches, Keta FC would be fine-tuning their tactics and making final preparations to build on the confident and determined of the players and coaches and would be looking to put up a strong performance against Lucky Stars FC.
