Winneba (C/R), Jan 27, GNA – One person has died and several others sustained injuries following a violent clash between two youth factions at Effutu Sankor in the Effutu Municipality.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 25, 2026, after the death of a young man, popularly known as Excoba. His body has been deposited at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital morgue in Winneba, where the injured are also receiving treatment.
Confirming the incident, the Effutu Divisional Police Commander, ACP Ibrahim Opoku, said some suspects had been arrested and would be arraigned before court on Tuesday.
He added that police patrols had been intensified in the area to restore calm, protect lives and property, and apprehend other suspects.
